3.13 mile in 26:58.  I probably need to slow down a bit, but it felt pretty confortable.

I'm radioactive today.  I was injected with a radioactive solution today for a bone scan of my pelvis.  I have to wean Melanie now, or else I'll have a night lite daughter LOL.  Brandon calls me the radioactive woman.  I'm a super hero :o)  (atleast for the next 3 days.)

I was drinking my smoothie while I was reading your entry and nearly choked from laughter. Funny... I hope the scan goes well! How old is Melanie?

From Camille on Thu, Dec 18, 2008 at 22:28:04

Melanie is just barely 1 year (Monday was her birthday). It's time, I know that... and I was actually in the process, but now it's like cold turkey.

From marion on Thu, Dec 18, 2008 at 22:37:09

I nursed my babies until between 15-22 months, so you are just fine. It is time to quit, when it is time to quit. People always asked me when I knew it was time to quit. My answer is, that it is time to quit when the next person who goes for my breasts is going to get knocked upside the head! ;) I always used to wonder how those doggy mommies could just get up and walk off while their puppies were nursing. Once I was a nursing mom, I knew exactly how she felt! Hang tough honey- she'll be fine and you'll be GREAT! :D

From Camille on Thu, Dec 18, 2008 at 22:42:24

Marion - You crack me up! That's hilarious. I decided it was time to start weaning once she got top teeth to match the bottom teeth she has. I'm pretty sure baby teeth are razor sharp! I had weaned her from day time nursing (no more worrying about milk while working), so it really shouldn't be a problem cutting her off all together. But, lets just say this wasn't my plan...

From walter on Thu, Dec 18, 2008 at 22:57:40

I was nursed until jr. high. lol jk not really not that theres anything wrong with that. I just find that funny what you said about making little melanie a night light.

From marion on Fri, Dec 19, 2008 at 00:21:28

It's really hard to quit when it is not what you had planned. I had one like that, and I still feel badly about it. Hang tough sweetie- it will all be ok!

From Camille on Fri, Dec 19, 2008 at 08:14:25

Walter - That would explain a lot about you. Totally joking.

Marion - Thanks for the support.

From seeaprilrun on Fri, Dec 19, 2008 at 12:26:31

You are back and running FASTER! My daughter weaned herself unexpectedly at 8 months old--refused to nurse! It surprised me and I was sad. I tried for 3 days to get her to nurse before giving up.She was a regular barracuda and loved to nurse so it was odd to get rejected so suddenly. You and Melanie will be okay! Rocking chair sessions with her on my shoulder and me singing helped me feel better. I still rock her to sleep for naptime and every once in a while at night when she wakes up from a bad dream!(she is 19 months old now!)

From Teena on Fri, Dec 19, 2008 at 15:48:40

You are a super hero for sure!! Be careful with the miles ... nice and easy Camille ... not excited and fast!! :)

From Kelli on Fri, Dec 19, 2008 at 18:23:39

GREAT RUN and good luck with the tests! We do not want Melanie to glow in the dark....wait, that might be kind of cool!

From Michelle N. on Sat, Dec 20, 2008 at 11:33:36

Aah, so what is going on Camille? I haven't been on the blog for a while. I hope everything is okay.

From camille on Sun, Dec 21, 2008 at 12:42:37

Kelli - Thanks! I thought it would be cool to see Melanie glow in the dark too. LOL But, then I decided that might be a bad idea. She is officially a big girl that drinks big girl milk from a cow. I'm a little depressed by it. I feel like she doesn't need mommy anymore.

Michelle - Oh, I have a stress fracture. It doesn't really hurt any more though, just every once in a while. The doctor wanted me to get a bone scan, and I scheduled it while I was in a ton of pain. I almost canceled the appointment (since I'm not hurting so much anymore), but my hsuband convinced me to keep the appointment just to be sure that there isn't anything serious going on that I need to be aware of. I've really been holding off signing up for any races until I get the results and the doctor's opinions. Is it bad that I blindly trust mine and Melanie's doctors. I hope they are the good, honest men I think they are.

From walter on Sun, Dec 21, 2008 at 12:46:21

Camille, I have a great Doc also but she like messin' with me. When I got Mono a few years ago she laughed when she told me I was not able to run at all for 2-3 months. I told her I wasnt leaving her office till she apologized. lol

From camille on Sun, Dec 21, 2008 at 12:49:48

Walter - That is hilarious. My doctor is a older, over weight man. When I told him what I was doing when I started feeling the pain (which was running), he jokingly said that *that* was the problem, and why would I do something that stupid. LOL

From walter on Sun, Dec 21, 2008 at 13:08:41

Did you tell him he's old! that'll get him! ha ha My doc is from Boston and knows what a big deal running is. She just loves to push my buttons. She told me to quit running this year when I found I had a double hernia. I told her I needed a second opinion just to mess with her. lol

From camille on Sun, Dec 21, 2008 at 13:12:18

Oh, I remember you saying that on the blog. She sounds like she has quite the personality.

No, I didn't tell my doctor that he is old, but I'm sure he knows that without me telling him. I was one of his first patients... and I was a new born. So, I'm sure just coming into the office is a reminder of how old he has gotten.

From camille on Sun, Dec 21, 2008 at 13:13:00

If I could edit that, I would change that last word to "become". Please don't tell Burt. (Though he already knows my grammar is a total joke).

From walter on Sun, Dec 21, 2008 at 13:23:16

Thats good you changed that. I consider my grammer to be at least above average until Burt corrects me. lol Wait, did I spell correct right? that looks odd.

From camille on Sun, Dec 21, 2008 at 13:29:49

try working with him. I'll send out emails that I spent a long time contemplating and proof reading... and he always has a response to them. (Even if I have him proof read it for me first).

From walter on Sun, Dec 21, 2008 at 13:31:12

too funny. Ill get him, he's not perfect! Well, at least I dont think he is. lol

From camille on Sun, Dec 21, 2008 at 13:31:46

Heck no! You should see some of the emails *he* sends out.

From Burt on Mon, Dec 22, 2008 at 11:59:48

First of all, I am perfect. Second of all, I've given up on you two a long time ago.

From Camille on Mon, Dec 22, 2008 at 12:04:41

Whatever Burt! :o)

From walter on Mon, Dec 22, 2008 at 14:16:11

Burt, your from Arizona? Do you know any of my cousins, Scott Carson, or Sean Carson. Or how about John McCain?

From Camille on Mon, Dec 22, 2008 at 14:20:25

I'm living in "awe" right now... one of my entries actually made the "hot topic" list. I don't know why, but that makes me happy.

From walter on Mon, Dec 22, 2008 at 14:22:14

You are a topic of hotness. You just trumped me! Thats it, your freakin' dead! (Vegas Vacation)

From Burt on Mon, Dec 22, 2008 at 14:25:21

Oh yeah. I know 'em all. We're a tight-knit community.

And the correct spelling is 'you're' not 'your'.

From Camille on Mon, Dec 22, 2008 at 14:26:53

LOL! Walter, you crack me up.

Burt - you forgot to mention that you and Johnny are BFF's. Didn't you have him and the misses over for dinner last night?
