I ran for exactly 60 mins (thank you NikePlus for telling me all that fun information), and it turned out to be 7.21 miles.  Not too shabby.

I went to Grandma Great's today and she taught me knitting 101.  I have some things to learn and then I can go back to learn the next thing.  I'm making dish clothes.  Knitted dish clothes are 10x's better than crochets dish clothes, and crocheted dish clothes are 100x's better than the crummy ones you get at the store...  so, my math friends, who can tell me how many times better the KNIT dish clothes are than the CRUMMY ones you get at the store?  :o)  Don't you love little brain teasers?!?

Hey Camille, thanks for the comment, , funny, was I picked at random? you're cute! I like your explanations of your days!!! How's the weather in AZ?

From Camille on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 10:41:45

Amber - yeah, it was kind of random. I saw that you where the most recent entry, and I thought I'd click and say hi. :o) But when I saw the picture of your family, I had to comment on how cute your family is.

If I tell you how the weather is here, you may get upset. It's beautiful. right now it's 42 degrees.

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 15:24:53

I am not good at math, so I will leave that one to Burt.

GREAT run in 60 minutes! What is that pace, I wonder. More math, time to get out of your blog.

From Camille on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 15:29:58

Kelli - I love it. Actually, my average pace was 8.33 min/mil. And to answer the riddle of the day, that would mean that knitted dish clothes are 1000x's better than the crummy ones.

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 15:32:51

Seriously, too much math for my brain! Thanks for the answers, and great PACE (now that I know what it was!)

From Camille on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 15:36:20

:o) Kelli - you are too sweet! I don't know if I'm running too fast (since I'm technically recovering from that pelvis fracture), but it just feels comfortable. I think I may try to run slower today. I don't know. In the meanwhile, today my knee has really been bugging me when I go down the steps at the office. Not when I walk up them or on flat ground, only when I go down.

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 15:43:45

Be careful! That is how my IT band felt and that stunk (still does!)

I think going with what feels good is always the BEST thing to do.

From Camille on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 15:46:18

Well, can I ask you for your advice? I really want to be able to participate in the Ragnar (side question: you are coming down here for it, right?). If I don't run at all, I obviously won't be in shape for it... but if I over do it, I could injure myself, definitely not good. Yesterday's run didn't feel uncomfortable at all. No pain. But today, like I said, that stupid knee is bothering me. What would you do? How would you approach training for the Ragnar?

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 15:50:39

Yes, I am coming down to run! YEAH---warm running, I can hardly wait.

I say just to take it easy. To me Ragnar is more about the fun. I am still running at paces 1-2 minutes slower than what I SHOULD be running, but I do not want the pain to come back!

Here is what I did: I cut my miles in half for a few weeks and ran really slow. I stretched a TON (yoga almost every day in some form or another), then I tried a few faster runs to test it all out. Once that was okay, I got my mileage back up some and now I am just winging it! I run at a slower but more comfortable pace, I take a day off if it hurts (look back a few weeks---lots of days off, and this is when I finally started to get rid of the pain), and I do not push it in any way!

I am not a very good advice-giver, but I hope that helps! Your injury was pretty serious, so i would really just take it easy!

From Camille on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 15:55:20

Kelli - I really appreciate your advice! I've been doing a lot of yoga lately, and it's been helping with other aches and pains (my stinking back... Melanie's getting too heavy). I haven't really been running very far (you'll notice that besides yesterday, all my distances are really small), and really, haven't had too much pain. If it hurts, I tune it down or cut it short. I'll just keep doing that.

Yes, the Ragnar is just for fun. I'm super excited. But Burt is out for blood. LOL, and I'm a little slower than the rest of the team. (okay, alot slower).

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 15:56:57

Which van and legs are you two running? I will come and race Burt!!!

From Camille on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 15:59:30

We are both in Van 2. I'm leg 10 and he is leg 11

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 16:01:50

And I am leg 12!!!!

From Camille on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 16:02:58

oh, that's kinda funny! :o) What team are you on? Anyone else on your team that I would know from the blog?

From Burt on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 16:06:57

Don't think I can't hear you two.

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 16:07:18

WALTER! I think he is running leg 8. His wife is 7, my husband is 9, and then two of the HP's from our ward are 10 and 11. The other van is from Heber, I met one guy through the blog (asking for people who wanted to run) but I do not think he is running anymore. Their part of the team is 6 men from some company called Redmond Inc that pays for the race, the hotel, the flights, everything!! Lucky guys. SO, we do not know them at all. It will be weird to try and find them at exchange points.

Our name is Redmond Racers (for their work). How about you guys?

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 16:08:11

Are you scared, Camille??? I am not.

From Camille on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 16:09:17

Nope, not in the slightest. Ha ha ha! Though, Burt is in the next room over. And given that I have lost my voice completely... he could come in here and beat me up, and no one would hear my cries. LOL

From Burt on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 16:10:48

You should be, Kelli. And IT IS ON.

From Camille on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 16:13:17

Walter's poor wife is running the 9.6 mile leg? Burt assigned one of our bosses to that leg, and he isn't flattered. LOL

From Burt on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 16:18:07

I actually told Bethany today that I'd be switching you with her. So now you're number 8.

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 16:19:00

Well, we thought that was the easiest, are we wrong??? We do not know the area, so we just went by the rankings they gave each leg.

How about you and Burt rank legs 7-12 so we know who to assign everything to! Nothing is set in stone, we can switch it up. Walter is supposed to be getting back to me on what he thinks.

From Camille on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 16:22:00

Well, there you go, I'm runner 8.

I'll take a look at the legs again when I get home and get back to you Kelli. I just know that runner 7 has a really long leg.

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 16:23:30

Alrighty, thanks!!! I am off to feed myself some lunch and head to 3 year old ballet class. Fun stuff.

You two get back to work and have a great day!

From Burt on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 17:21:06

I don't know how recently, but they have changed the course and the legs slightly. In order of difficulty ranking from easiest to hardest for Van #2, I would say:

10, 8, 7, 11, 12, 9.

From Camille on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 18:02:00

Notice that Bethany and I have the easiest legs on in our van. LOL

From Burt on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 18:28:24

That's because we have super JamesW from the blog in our van, also.

From Camille on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 18:31:55

Hey, we aren't complaining, believe me. I've looked at my legs... they are plenty challenging.

From kungfublonde on Fri, Jan 16, 2009 at 01:23:16

When is this ragnar thing? I want to come support you! You're not *that* far away from me...!

From Camille on Fri, Jan 16, 2009 at 11:37:10

Rachel - We'd LOVE to have you down here to support us. The race starts Friday February 27, and ends Saturday February 28th.
