Okay... here are pictures from Melanie's party today.  First, I'm going to start with the cakes.  This is Melanie's personal 1st birthday cake.

This is the big "everyone else" birthday cake.

Of course, it is all Strawberry Shortcake because of Melanie's red hair.

Okay, here she is digging in.

Here's the after cake picture of the cake she demolished (spelling?).

Here is Melanie upset after mommy washed her face off.

Here she is with her new toy from Papa Terry

And after the 2 min drive home LOL

Too much fun!!!

Thanks for letting me show up my pictures with you.  I hope that's okay!

I love it camille!! We have a tradition to give our 1 year olds their own cake also. Man did you go all out or what. She probably felt bad diggin' into a work of art!

From Teena on Sun, Dec 14, 2008 at 12:20:16

Love it Camille!!

What a fun mom you are!! (and extremely talented)

How are you feeling?

From Camille on Sun, Dec 14, 2008 at 18:48:59

Walter - Thank you! I don't think Melanie felt bad about diggin in as soon as she tasted the frosting. LOL. She was so tired though, she didn't do as much damage as I thought she would. She didn't have it in her hair or on her clothes... nor did she get it all over the floor. It was fun though.

Teena - Thank you for the compliment. I'm not necessarily a fun mom... more like a funny looking mommy. LOL I still feel sick, but it's just that time of the year, you know? My6 leg hasn't hurt me for about a week (except a few rare occasions). I'm thinking about going for a short run tomorrow after work. Any advice? I need to get moving again. I feel like a vegetable

From Teena on Sun, Dec 14, 2008 at 19:05:44

Camille,

Just take it nice and easy! You will do great. Don't rush anything!!

From Kelli on Sun, Dec 14, 2008 at 21:08:08

She is so beautiful!!! And the cakes were magnificent! You seriously need to go into business girl!

From Burt on Mon, Dec 15, 2008 at 09:57:57

Again, I can personally testify that the cake is super-yummy. Thanks, Camille!

From Camille on Mon, Dec 15, 2008 at 10:01:00

Walter - Thanks. Speaking of dolls, I have video of Brandon and Melanie dancing to Christmas music. He was swinging her all around and I swear she looked like a little rag doll. LOL

Teena - Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to go out tonight and give it a try.

Kelli - Thank you! I'm thinking cake decorating may be my fall back when the engineering industry goes bust. LOL. (okay, those aren't tears of joy...)

Burt - I'm glad you got yourself a piece!

From Camille on Mon, Dec 15, 2008 at 10:32:35

From walter on Mon, Dec 15, 2008 at 10:36:46

Im sure there great full for whatever they can get! Ill let you know when my birthday is coming up. ;)

From Camille on Mon, Dec 15, 2008 at 10:40:46

LOL Yeah, let me know. I'll have to see if I can find a Gilligan Cake Pan. LOL

From walter on Mon, Dec 15, 2008 at 11:33:15

Ok forget i asked. lol Its Nicholas, not Gilligan! ha ha See what Burt started! oh my good crap!

From Camille on Mon, Dec 15, 2008 at 11:34:43

LOL okay... I'll have to go with Wall - E instead. Easier to locate that pan. I'm totally joking. But, if I have time, I may make a cake for the after Del Sol party. Depends on my time. There will be a party, right?

From walter on Mon, Dec 15, 2008 at 11:37:21

Your our host families! There better be some kind of party! Get with Lybi on it!

From Camille on Mon, Dec 15, 2008 at 11:40:49

I've never been a host family before, nor have I ever been to an after race party. I don't know if I'm good at organizing stuff.... hmmm.... how did it work last year? Is Lybi still a host if she isn't running?

From walter on Mon, Dec 15, 2008 at 11:48:47

Yeah, Both James and Lybi volunteered their home to us and were so gracious! They are awesome. As far as a party, we'll have to get together and plan it out! I know there will be a few bloggers down there. We'll keep in touch with it.
